Introduction
On this and the following pages you will learn how to create, edit and manage tasks in Stocadro. All tasks are shown in the web app in the Tasks tab. This requires the “Read tasks” permission (see Permissions)
Tasks are used to instruct an employee to carry out a specific activity. Since Stocadro mainly revolves around materials management, these are usually activities needed to move material from the warehouse to the construction site, e.g. a picking or a transport task. Conversely, material of course also needs to go back from construction sites to the warehouse - there are dedicated task types for that too.
Task types
Section titled “Task types”In Stocadro, every task has a type. The options for this field are:
- Warehouse
- Transport
The type is used to roughly divide tasks by area of application. For a warehouse worker, for example, only tasks of type ‘Warehouse’ are relevant. For a truck driver, tasks of type ‘Transport’ are important.
In addition, each task has a subtype, which serves to define the specific task. For the task type ‘Warehouse’, these are:
- Picking
- Storage
- Other
And for the task type ‘Transport’:
- Delivery
- Pickup
- Transfer
- Other
Task properties
Section titled “Task properties”Besides the type and subtype, a task has further properties.
Basic information
Section titled “Basic information”General properties of the task
- Start date: the day on which the task begins
- End date: the day on which the task ends. For tasks completed within a single day, the end date is the same as the start date.
- Location: the company location the task is relevant for. Used to meaningfully filter tasks for employees (a warehouse worker at location A is not interested in tasks at location B)
- Construction project: the cost center the task is assigned to, e.g. the destination of a delivery or the construction site for which material is being picked.
- Priority: if a user is assigned several tasks on one day, the priority determines the order.
Resources
Section titled “Resources”Resources (employees and material) needed to complete the task. All resources are optional. If a resource is not needed, it can simply be left empty. For a resource to be assignable to a task, it must first be created (see e.g. Vehicles)
- Assigned to: the person(s) who should complete the task. For warehouse tasks, this is usually a warehouse worker; for driving tasks, a driver. Who can be assigned to this field is governed by a permission (see Permissions).
- Loading zone: a marked area in the warehouse that serves as the handover point between a warehouse task and a driving task
- Vehicle: the vehicle to be used to carry out the task.
- Trailer: the trailer to be used to carry out the task.
- Loading platform: the loading platform to be used to carry out the task.
Material list
Section titled “Material list”Every task can be assigned to a material list. Usually, completing a delivery, i.e. transporting a specific material list from one place to another, requires several tasks.
Comment
Section titled “Comment”A free-text field for further specifying the task. Combined with the ‘Other’ subtype, this allows any kind of task to be defined.
